SHORT SUMMARY
I've been cosplaying since 2014, though I have always loved playing dress up. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays because I get to be someone (or something) else for a night. When I was growing up, I heard about cosplay but never got the chance to participate in it until I was in college. I watched cosplay videos on YouTube and wished I could be a part of that world. In High School, I used to dress up as some of my favorite characters (like Hiei and Sasuke) at school.
Since then, I've grown a lot as a cosplayer and person. Through the help of an amazing community and generous friends, I've learned more about wearing, caring for, and styling wigs; making costumes from scratch, modifying thrift store finds, and closet cosplay; posing, photography, and editing; armor and prop making (and wearing!); as well as how to really contribute to a community in a positive way.
